I love my Black Berry, how ever it has been hard to get use to. It has such a different set up than any other phone I've ever had, but Im getting the hang of it, It is a little hard to find things on the phone such as setting the ring tones and also setting the home page on my browser, I havent figgured that one out yet, but the 8100 dose some very net things that I love. I just wish it would play videos

I left my prepaid company, Virgin Mobile to switch to T-Mobile (of whom I've been dying switch to for 2yrs now!) and I must say I haven't been disappointed yet! I LOVE MY BLACKBERRY PEARL & WOULD NOT CHANGE A THING ABOUT IT! I love it! I love the fact it can keep up with me! I'm pretty tech advanced & my phone surpasses any of my expectations that I had already preconceived! The screen is clear & the quality of pix is great! Texting is out of this world! Media mail is awesome! Even down to leaving memos for yourself is a big help! Whether you are or aren't an organized person, the BLACKBERRY PEARL, can help guide you through things down to the minute! My only regret is that I didn't switch my cell phone provider a lot sooner!

I had no idea how much I would love this phone when I first saw it on the Wirefly website. With my new Blackberry Pearl, I am able to check my email anywhere, make notes, play games and basically have a brilliant, sleek all-in-one communication station with me wherever I go. The phone has this roller ball in the center that spins for super simple navigation. I don't know what I did before without it! The phone has a standard keyboard layout that is familiar to me and allows me to get my message sent more quickly than the phones that have three letters to a number. Bottom line is: I feel great walking into a room and pulling out my Blackberry Pearl whenever at a meeting or out for a walk. The only downside to the phone is that when set to the "MyFaves" setting, the phone will sometimes call one of your "MyFaves" if you accidentally bump the call button while in your pocket. The nice thing is that there is a solution to this: You can easily turn off the "MyFaves" option in your menu so this problem won't occur. I have no other complaints about this phone. I highly recommend it. I have no desire to get an iPhone any longer. I found my match!

I think that this phone is excellent for on the go adults with many thing to do daily. I am able to keep in contact with those who matter most, to access and organize vast amounts of data. It is a small companct phone that is easily conceiled but durable enough to take the periodic bumps and bruisis. Very good phone.

I love the calendar that synchs to my desktop outlook - its VERY easy! I am very busy and need everything there at hand for quick reference. The buttons are kinda small if switching from a cell phone to this blackberry; its just going to take getting used to. Pictures it takes are beautiful too

We got two Blackberries. Wish we had done it ages ago. We have been with T-Mobile for a number of years mainly because you get the most sevice for the money and we have found the coverage good. The Blackberry is like a mini computer at your fingertips. The BlackBerry Pearl 8100 is a great smart phone. The pearl track ball combined with the qwerty type key arrangement make this easy to use without having a break in half flip open format like other texting specific phones. Great organizing tools to boot and loads of other features to make mobile communication easy. The only dislike is the slippery metallic side so a skin or case is a good idea.

The keyboard letter arrangements makes it so much easy for texting. I love everything about it, battery charges so fast, and last so long, and the calls are clear. The only thing I hate is that it doesn't have a video camara....no video...noooooooooooo....Man....but I know there is another Pearl outthere with video, so next time I will read the description a little better.

It's an addictive little toy with loads of features for organizing and making contacts, getting necessary info from the web, and fantastic calling features like Voice Dial.
It's two major limiting factors are, first, its keyboard and TrueType software. It's almost like having to learn a new alphabet to get the thing to type what you want. Second, the "internet" isn't at all what you've got on your computer, making it difficult to find things.

I had some hesitation about purchasing this phone, because I previously had a smart phone with a full keyboard. I have to say that the two-key per button feature has not been a problem. This phone is incredibly intuative, and you only have to hit each key once to get the letter that you want. The phone can figure out what you are typing based on the key configuration. I use this phone for texting and email, and it does both flawlessly. Setting up email was a breeze, and so far, the blackberry support has been great. The internet is a bit limited, but the phone is fast and is compatible with my EDGE network.

I use my bbp for all my meetings-recording minutes, it actually organizes my most important dates(b-days,special occassions,etc.), and appointments all at the press of a button. I surf the internet, I play games, and one of the most exciting features is the MP3 player. I cannot live without my music. It's the only phone I'll ever need. The camera is also a great feature that takes wonderful pics. I am able to take pictures of old photos and upload them to my computer with better clearity then my scanner!

I bought two Blackberry Pearls, and my wife and I love this phone. It is easy to download music, we both enjoy the keypad, and the blackberry messanger is great when we just want to have a conversation between ourselves.
My wife uses all the other features, browsing the web, emailing, and scheduling, and she said it was a lot easier to use then the blackjack she had, and a lot smaller.
I recommend this product for the on the go people, and I use wirefly to purchase it, there service is great!

Easily the best cell phone I've had. I was looking for a phone with the ability to e-mail, but not one that weighed a 1/2 pound and looked like a memo pad in your hand. The Pearl was/is perfect. It's compact size make it look like a typical cell phone. It has all of the features of a full-sized QWERTY keyed phone. I was a little skeptical about the smart type feature but within a couple of days I was zipping out e-mails in no time. It has everything you'd want in a phone. While it doesn't have a video recorder, this is a feature that I would rarely use anyway.
Hands down-this phone is a winner.

Just remember this when concidering the Pearl; It is a phone based platform.
Being over 40, I really need my reading glasses not to fumble with the keys.
The voice recognition feature is horrible. It has a phonic system that mis-pronounces many proper names and rarely works on the first try. It does offer a verbal list, for a second or third try. But most of those are wrong as well! That is very poor for any type of hands free operation. My last very inexpensive phone used your own voice commands and was highly accurate.
The stock ring-tones are not very loud. My advice is to invest in softwear that will allow you to to pump it up.
After using a Palm E for several years, the non-touch screen trac-ball interface took a bit to get used to, but works just fine.
One more draw back: It is a REAL pain to get an expansion card in behind the battery!
The phone looks very slick. Many smart phones are clunky, I call them "bricks". This is not your fathers smart phone! It is overall a nice, compact phone.
My wife choose the Pearl although, I will be using it for the next few months. I'll be looking at the Curve or a Palm at that time. However anyone who is thinking about a first time smart phone should strongly concider the Pearl.

Great 'small' blackberry, but phone appears to have some software problems. Cannot hear person and/or person cannot hear you during calls, but the call does not drop, so minutes are still being used. You have to 'back out' of phone book when searching for a name; does not automatically reset. No quick, easy access to voicemail. Great for emails and/or text messages...phone calls, the jury is still out!

I have had this phone for about two months and have hardly used it due to the poor quality of service. It was a bad decision on my part to switch my carrier. I cannot make calls from my home. Calls are frequently dropped. The service is very very unreliable. Not happy with the service at all.
