I love the nokia 5300 it has proven practicle and user-friendly. I can stor some 250 songs with the memory card that came with the phone, other phones with mp3 players only hold about 20 songs, therefor you would need to buy another memory card [$] The phone sounds like I'm on my home phone and down loads are so easy my jack-russel could probably do it:)! The only thing I might would change is, I would put a lock button on the slide that would lock the slide mechanizum and have a switch release. It's such a great phone, I got my wife one as well! I use the phone on a daily basis for calls and texting. It is great at taking and sending pictures to family members that would not normally get pictures emailed. There has been occasions that my phone has slid open and "pocket dialed" but otherwise I love the features that are offered for this phone.

This is the best phone I've ever had! I like the way it is organized. I like being able to take videos, even though they aren't as clear when transferred onto a computer. You can assign a video to a caller and it will play when they call. I like the MP3 player a lot, too. It plays until you tell it to stop, even if you use your phone for something else like texting.

The call quality is good ... well, most of the time. Music player is decent enough.
I am not too big on listening to songs, but even i find the battery life too short for the music player or otherwise.
The slide hinge is a little too delicate for my liking. I sometimes hope it doesnt come off or something.
It was really hard to remove the back panel battery cover the first time around. But once you get used to it, its easy. But be careful the first time though !

A great and good-looking phone with a following few deficiencies:
- handset sound volume is NOT loud enough
- rubber side volume control buttons
are small and inconvenient to use! They are hard to locate and I always have to look at them before changing the volume
- when using supplied wired headphones
for making a call sound quality becomes unacceptably poor (wonder why?!)
- navigation buttons (in particular backspace/back button) are flimsy and can be easily double pressed what makes editing phonebook entries a real pain
- keypad beep sound volume is very low even at highest setting, but at the same time when using loudspeaker this sound
suddenly becomes crazily loud...
- the way of turning loudspeaker ON/OFF
is plain stupid (sorry). The phone must have had
a designated button for this function.
What if I call overseas, using a 20 digit phone card - in this case I have to "clear" all these and preceding numbers before I am able to change the
setting! Nokia must have put a little
more thought when introducing such "innovations" :)
Besides that I like this phone.

This phone is mainly suited for texting & downloading music.Picture quality is just ok,battery life whether on standby or off is fair at best.Calls are clear, but I gave it to my teen son.
